Games

Play while you review vocabulary. Results count toward your review schedule like regular practice.

VocaMax English vocabulary games turn word review into short rounds: type the right word to blast a monster, race the Boss to pick the meaning, chain words together, steer a race car into the right lane, say words out loud to pop balloons, or jump across bridges to rescue the princess. Each game trains a different skill — spelling, listening, reading meaning, speaking, reaction speed — using the very words you are learning. Unlike ordinary casual games, every round is saved to your spaced-repetition (SRS) review schedule and earns experience points, so playing counts as studying.

Play

Playing is reviewing

  1. 1

    Pick your words

Review words that are due, play with a word set you saved, or choose a ready-made topic such as Animals, Food or Travel.

  2. 2

    Play a short round

Each turn is one word: type, pick or chain it correctly before time runs out. Miss one and the game shows you the answer.

  3. 3

    Words join your schedule

Words you get right are spaced further apart; missed words come back sooner. New words from a topic can go straight into your notebook.

Frequently asked questions

Are the vocabulary games free?

Yes. Free accounts get a number of plays every day, no payment needed to start; your remaining plays are shown under Usage limits.

Do games really help me remember words?

Every word in a round is saved to your spaced-repetition (SRS) schedule just like regular practice: correct words are spaced out, missed words come back sooner. So a game is a real review session, not just entertainment.

Where do the words in the games come from?

You choose before playing: words that are due for review, a word set you saved in your notebook, or a ready-made vocabulary topic. New words from a topic can be added to your notebook after the round.

Can I play on my phone?

Yes, the games run in both mobile and desktop browsers. Typing games are easier with a keyboard; the VocaMax app also has vocabulary games to play anywhere.

Are the games suitable for kids?

The games use cartoon art, simple rules and can use basic vocabulary topics, so they suit children who can read as well as adult beginners.

Can I challenge my friends?

Yes, in Word Chain vs Boss, Monster Attack, Space Typer, Who Is Faster and Rescue the Princess: after a round you send a challenge link, your friend plays the same word set and compares scores with you, even without an account.
